I left my 20s in 2016 and I’m writing this New Year’s Eve to tell you a bunch of things that will potentially save your life (because they saved mine). Let’s all Woo and Yay for an incredible 2017.
Not caring about what other people think is way easier said than felt. Why do we feel so bad when we get rejected anyway? Well, as I’ve come to realize, it’s actually programmed into our subconscious minds in very subtle ways at a very early age. This is what gives rise to what I call, “the divided self.”
“Being authentic” is all the rage these days. So much so that it’s become a huge trend. If it’s trendy to be authentic, though, are you really being authentic? What does it even mean to be authentic? Is this some kind of bullshit, abstract idea that isn’t even real? Allow me to clear up what we all ought NOT to assume what authenticity really means (as well as what it should mean).
